Dr. Langmuir, who was instrumental in developing the measles vaccine:
. . . This self-limiting infection of short duration, moderate severity, and low fatality has maintained a
remarkably stable biological balance over the centuries…
…
Thus, in the United States measles is a disease whose importance is not to be measured by total
days disability or number of deaths, but rather by human values and by the fact that tools are
becoming available which promise ef ective control and early eradication.
To those who ask me, “Why do you wish to eradicate measles?,” I reply with the same answer
that Hillary used when asked why he wished to climb Mt. Everest. He said, “Because it is there.”
To this may added, “ . . . and it can be done.” (Emphasis added.)Langmuir, et al, The importance of measles as a health problem

This lecture separates fact from fiction in the current debate over measles. It addresses what herd immunity is and what it is not, in both the pre-vaccine and vaccine eras. It examines the consequences – real and potential – for vaccines that do not reproduce natural immunity. It addresses the question of should we fear measles and if so, why? Andrew Wakefield, MBBS Wakefield has been likened to the Dreyfus of his generation, a doctor falsely accused of scientific and medical misconduct, whose discoveries opened up entirely new perceptions of childhood autism, the gut-brain link, and vaccine safety. As an ‘insider’, the price for his discoveries and his refusal to walk away from the issues they raised, was swift and brutal, with loss of job, career, reputation, honours, colleagues, and country. And yet he enjoys a huge and growing support from around the world. Wakefield’s stance made him a trusted place for whistleblowers from government and industry to confess and ‘download’. He has extraordinary stories to share. Wakefield is now an award-winning filmmaker. Despite elaborate attempts at censorship, his documentary VAXXED – the revelations of a vaccine scientist at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention- changed the public mindset on the truth about vaccine safety. Wakefield’s is a story that starts with professional trust in the instincts of mothers, choice and consequences, a quest for truth, and perseverance against overwhelming odds.

Measles remedies
A Randomized, Controlled Trial of Vitamin A in Children with Severe Measles
Dissolving Illusions (p. 297)
Vitamin A stops the measles virus from rapidly multiplying inside cells by up-regulating the
innate immune system in uninfected cells which helps to prevent the virus from infecting new
cells. It is well known today that a low vitamin A level correlates with low measles-specific
antibodies and increased morbidity and mortality. Vitamin A is a well-proven intervention
for reduction of mortality, concomitant infections, and hospital stay.It made no more sense to vaccinate against measles in 1963 than it does to put an infected child
in a dark room instead of just giving vitamin A, which protects the retinas and the uninfected
cells. In Africa, it’s the massive bodily demand for vitamin A that causes xeropthalmia (dry
eyes) which, even long term, is reversible with vitamin A supplements. The efficiency of the cellular immune system is tied to the intake of dietary nutrients, including
vitamin A, vitamin C, zinc, selenium, and protein rich in vitamin B. Poor nutrition leads to
impaired cellular immune responses, which results in worse outcomes after measles infection or
exposure. When the body fights any infection, especially measles, vitamin A stores become depleted by
various mechanisms. Measles infections and high-titer measles vaccines both impair cell mediated
immunity, in part because of vitamin A depletion. . . .
MMR vaccine
Perspective on measles post-vaccine
What’s in the vaccine? Below are the vaccine excipients for the current MMR vaccines from page 9 of the CDC’s pink book:
MMR Vaccine (Measles, Mumps and Rubella): Is It Safer Than Measles?
MMR vaccine never tested for efficacy
The MMR Vaccine combines three separate vaccines – measles, mumps, and rubella (German measles) in a single vial for a single shot. While each vaccine has been tested individually for efficacy, the combination vaccine has never undergone efficacy testing. It states this in Section 14.1, Clinical Efficacy, in the 2023 vaccine package insert (page 8)
Efficacy of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines was established in a series of double-blind controlled trials. {29-34} These studies also established that seroconversion in response to vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella paralleled protection.
This was more clearly spelled out in the Clinical Pharmacology section of the 2017 vaccine package insert (page 2):
Efficacy of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines was established in a series of double-blind controlled field trials which demonstrated a high degree of protective efficacy afforded by the individual vaccine components.{7-12} These studies also established that seroconversion in response to vaccination against measles, mumps, and rubella paralleled protection from these diseases.
Parents considering the shot should also read the package insert for contraindications and possible adverse effects including atypical measles.
